SXSW Interactive 2008 – Day 1 March 7, 2008

There were only a few book discussions today. The first one really touched on some principles regarding social reputation and managing social reps online. Since these were simply book discussions the conversation never really answerd any questions. It’s kind of like you have to buy the book to get the information.

Registration The End Of The Trail

Next up was the dicussion for Robert Hoehkman’s new book. I really feel this books story approach will offer some good insight when it’s released. Much like the other one above this was a book reading. I met an intersting person that works in the UK. She has many of the same problems in the corporate world and was locatd in the UK. I hope to get to speak to her some more. It’s all about sharing ideas!

UI Design Dissection: Jack in the Box Self Order Machine Today for lunch I decided to swing by Jack in the Box. Little did I know I was about to have a unique UI experience. Upon arriving we were introduced to the brand new (at least in this area) self order system. And thus began my customer experience. My initial reaction was one of horror. I... Features In The Front Usability Get To The Back Almost daily I face this this challenge. In fact it is infuriating about how many times in the day a usability concern is locked into the backseat. Twitter is a great way to share new and exciting resources with all our viewers. Each day I provide links and commentary on all things UI. You can find UI resources, UI design examples, new techniques, and a lot more by Following @UIDESIGNGUIDE on Twitter.

The idea for this design blog first came about two years ago at SXSW Interactive.

Currently UI Design guide is in its fourth redesign. This site takes quite a bit of time to maintain as well as write the content. Just like UI Design this site is a passion that keeps evolving.

Inside, I cover articles on many topics icluding: lessons, prototyping methods, agile UX methods, design reviews, design challenges, application features, and of course design experiences, just to name a few.

With all the blogs out there you may be asking yourself who are you to give advice? That's a fair question. If you have a moment feel free to read about my design history.
